Thursday December 10th I attended the open house of Ed Smith Redevelopment meeting at Ed Smith Stadium which is now the proud home of the Baltimore Orioles. It was a one on one event everyone who attended had the opportunity to speak with the different departments of the Ed Smith Stadium Redevelopment team. I spoke with Larry Arnold director of the community services in Sarasota county government to gain information on the event, and its attentions. Tuesday December 2nd I had the Opportunity to speak with Jeff Steward, and Jenny Yarabec to speak with, and learn more about the Sarasota County Festival Steering Committee. Jeff Steward and Jenny Yarabec also gave insight on the meeting the Festival Committee had Monday November 30th, and here is what they had to say. The county’s next meeting will take Tuesday December 15th at 1660 Ringling Blvd in the Think Tank which is located on the 3rd floor. The meetings are open to the public to come in and learn more about what in store for the Festival Steering Committee.

Saturday November 28th I had the opportunity to speak with Kevin Mitchell owner of the Parkland Art Gallery on South Pineapple to learn more about the First Friday Art which takes place downtown. I also had the opportunity to speak with David Heustess a local painter, and David Scrabie Mitchell a local Sculpture to learn more about their style of art work. Well I would like to close out with if you are in the downtown area visiting local art shops on December 4th from 6:00 to 9:00 it will be a wine and cheese night to remember with lots of beautiful art pieces.

WED Novemeber 25th I had the opportunity to attend the 9th annual Sarasota Ministerial Association Celebration a full Complimentary Thanksgiving Luncheon Theater at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall The Theater event stared Sarasota county commissioners Joe barbetta as general washington, carolyn mason as president obama & jon thaxton as honest abe lincoln, plus sarasota city mayor clapp as captain of the mayflower standish, sheriff knight as first to step on plymouth rock, john alden and school superintendent lori white as priscilla who captain standish and john alden loved…plus Rev. Don Roberts, President Goodwill Industries, as Chief Squanto. The piece you will now be hearing is The reading of the proclamation Abe Lincoln gave on Thanksgiving Day to the Nation. Friday November 20th I attended the Towels ct artist association 1 annual open juried show at Clair Mitchell Gallery in Sarasota. The event featured 27 Individual Art Galleries, live music, drinks and food. You will know be listening to Donna Raymond Vic President of the Towels CT Art association, and chairmen of the featured event. Betty Stevens President of the Towels CT Art Association, and Victoria Cooley Owner of one of the 27 art Galleries in Towels CT. During the Awards ceremony Betty Stevens President of the Towels CT Art Association handed out the awards to Edward Holihen who took home the second place art prize, and Elizabeth Stevens who took home the first place art prize.
